The School of Education and Counseling in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at Cleveland State University seeks a high caliber non-tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant College Lecturer in Education and Counseling, beginning August 17, 2026.
Successful candidates will contribute to the School of Education and Counseling through teaching and service. Candidates will teach courses and work with graduate students, community members, and faculty in the area of clinical mental health counseling; as such they must have earned a doctorate from a CACREP-approved Counselor Education program.
The School of Education and Counseling facilitates one of the largest counselor education programs in Northeast Ohio employing nationally recognized faculty. The counseling division offers degrees accredited by Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The School of Education and Counseling is housed within the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, which also includes the School of Communication, the Department of Criminology and Sociology, and the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs. The Levin College houses several research and career enhancement centers such as the Center for Economic Development, the Energy Policy Center, and the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management.

Minimum Qualifications
* Masters degree from CACREP approve program;
* Eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio;
* Evidence of effective graduate level teaching experience in a counselor education program.
Preferred Qualifications
* Doctorate from CACREP-approved doctoral program;
* Expertise in working with children;
* Family counseling experience;
* Experience in leadership, program management, private practice and/or successful grant funding;
* Involvement/affiliation in counseling-related professional organizations.
