Supply Chain Planner

We are looking for a customer-focused Supply Chain Planner to join our Automotive USCA Supply Chain team at our Cleveland, Ohio facility. This role provides comprehensive training across all supply chain operations, with primary responsibility for batch planning and finished goods/intermediate inventory management.

The Supply Planner will plan the right level of supply to meet demand and maintain healthy inventory levels to achieve On Time in Full performance with customers while achieving working capital quarterly targets. Other responsibilities include a focus on maintaining system parameters, creating supply plans and plan batches to meet demand or replenishing safety stock.

The Supply Planner will partner with cross-functional teams will be critical to ensure daily and weekly supply chain operations KPI’s and metrics are achieved. As a critical member of the PPG Supply Chain organization, this role directly influences Cleveland Plant performance and overall customer satisfaction. The Supply Chain Planner ensures delivery of the right products and colors to our Automotive OEM customers from our comprehensive portfolio of pre-treatment, electrocoat, primer, basecoat, and clearcoat solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply Plan Development & Management:
    Develop and maintain comprehensive supply plans in our Oracle ERP system to optimize supply-demand balance across 1‑3+ month planning horizons.
  • Demand Analysis & Plan Adjustment:
    Analyze demand forecasts and production output variations to assess potential impacts on inventory planning objectives; proactively adjust supply plans to maintain optimal inventory positions.
  • Inventory Management:
    Own inventory health metrics for assigned finished goods portfolio, implementing strategies to achieve established inventory targets and service level objectives.
  • Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) Leadership:
    Serve as active contributor or lead facilitator in monthly SIOP Supply Reviews and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) processes, driving corrective actions to meet demand requirements and escalating critical supply constraints to senior leadership.
  • New Product Introduction & Lifecycle Management:
    Coordinate supply planning for new product development orders, production trials, product transfers, and product lifecycle transitions (buildouts/phase‑outs), ensuring accurate timing and requirements validation within Oracle systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Partner strategically with PPG OEM site leadership and demand planning teams to align supply planning and inventory management processes with both short-term operational needs and long-term strategic demand projections.
  • Parameter Optimization &

    Risk Management:

    Evaluate and maintain safety stock levels and critical system parameters in accordance with Planning Excellence standards, accounting for supply and demand variability, lead time fluctuations, and market dynamics to ensure optimal inventory positioning.
What We Are Looking For :
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of supply chain experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment (3‑7 years preferred), with demonstrated expertise in planning/procurement roles managing raw materials and/or finished goods inventory
  • Hands‑on experience and comprehensive understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) systems and processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, data analysis); experience with Oracle, SAP, or comparable ERP systems preferred
  • Present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities and deliverables in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS or ASCM certification (CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent supply chain credentials)
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platforms (Microsoft Power BI) or SQL database applications

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000.
