Contract Role

We are seeking a skilled GIS Mapper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in updating, editing, and modifying geospatial data within a map. This role involves maintaining the GIS model on the electric side, performing analysis, and creating custom maps. Candidates with experience in GIS applications, even without utility experience, are encouraged to apply.

• 1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related).
• Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the company’s business applications.
• Understanding of material, equipment, and apparatus used in the work.
• Knowledge of the Utilities’ Transmission and Distribution systems.
• Valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey.
• Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications.
• Prior work experience at client or in the client's industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

• Experience with Micro Station and AutoCAD.
• Experience working in a union environment.
• Fieldwork experience using personal vehicle.

• Maintain the GIS connected model with information from various sources.
• Perform analysis or queries to assemble data and prepare reports, charts, and maps.
• Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests.
• Maintain service point data and resolve conflicting data issues.
• Perform GIS work related to major projects such as facility relocations and new business.
• Operate automated office equipment and perform manual or computer-aided drafting.
• Assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office.
