Summary

Clinton Junior High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for the  school year. The ideal candidate will foster a love for literature and language while developing students' critical thinking and communication skills. This full‑time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students.

This teaching position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and literature to students in the junior high age range. This person should foster a positive classroom environment, support diverse learners, and promote critical thinking and communication.

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
• Teach reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, vocabulary, and literature analysis.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.[l]?

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid teaching certification (PEL).
• Strong understanding of English language and literature, as well as effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community.
• Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
• Proficient in the use of technology in the classroom, including educational software and online resources.
