Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Mechanic to join the Plant Operations team!

Description:

The selected candidate will perform a variety of complex duties required in installing, maintaining, repairing and inspecting plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and mechanical items, and other equipment throughout the hospital and hospital owned facilities. Will also be responsible for grounds maintenance.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED, technical training certificate preferred

* Valid driver's license with no violations within the past 3 years

* Must be able to climb ladders.

* Must be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge of various trades

* Requires the physical ability to operate all equipment

* Must be familiar with tools, safety precautions and regulations

Hours:

Normally works 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Subject to callback at any time if needed. May be required to work long hours in emergency situations. May be required to work other hours for effective operation of the department as assigned and authorized by Director. Will be required to take call on a rotating basis in order to provide 24-hour coverage and weekend coverage.
