Position Summary

Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities.

The Executive Director of Health Sciences and Applied Technologies provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for the College’s Occupational Technology (OT), Allied Health and non-credit programs. This position is responsible for advancing CTE education that aligns with regional labor market demands, supports student success, and strengthens partnerships with industry, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders.

The Executive Director serves as a key leader in developing innovative, high-quality programs that prepare students for high-demand careers while contributing to the economic vitality of the communities served by the College.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Occupational Technology (OT), Allied Health and non-credit programs
  • Work with Allied Health Program Directors, OT faculty and Director of Workforce Partnership/Continuing Education to develop and implement short- and long-term goals aligned with the College’s mission, vision, and values
  • Lead strategic engagement with industry partners to forecast workforce trends, shape program offerings, and increase student career readiness and placement outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and expansion based on workforce and industry needs
  • Lead division-level planning, program review, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee the daily operations of all programs within the Occupational Technology and Allied Health divisions, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Supervise Allied Heath program directors and Occupational Technology faculty across multiple disciplines
  • Supervise the Director of Workforce Partnership/Continuing Education
  • In cooperation with the Executive Vice President and Dean of Instruction, arrange for staffing of classes by both full and part-time instructors and provide for the orientation and mentoring of new instructors
  • Advise the Executive Vice President with regard to class scheduling, class sizes, teaching assignment of full‑time faculty, and addition or deletion of classes
  • Participate in the evaluation of full and part‑time faculty as indicated by the Faculty Evaluation Committee, Dean of Instruction and the Executive Vice President and provide and/or facilitate mentorship to faculty members
  • Respond to student complaints about instruction in the division through appropriate communication with the student, the instructor, and others as needed
  • Assemble proposals for addition, deletion, or changes in course descriptions, degree plans, and other curriculum plans, for presentation to the Curriculum Council
  • Lead in the departmental planning for future curricula, personnel, and the physical needs of the division
  • Work closely with the Assessment Chair for assessment activities within the division, facilitate all assessment processes for the division, and provide mentorship to full- and part‑time faculty for completion of assessment according to the state requirements and CCC Assessment protocol
  • Assist in arranging for substitute instructors in the event of faculty absences in the division
  • Attend and participate in institutional meetings that advance the college, including but not limited to:
    Board meetings, strategic planning, enrollment strategies, student success initiatives
  • Support, and actively engage program advisory committees across all disciplines. Ensure advisory committees meet regularly and provide meaningful input on curriculum, equipment, industry trends, and workforce needs
  • Monitor enrollment trends, retention, and completion rates; implement strategies for improvement
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local and regional employers, healthcare organizations, and industry leaders
  • Promote experiential learning opportunities, including internships, clinical placements, and apprenticeships
