In the role of Senior Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:
Lead technical design for DOT and local agency highway bridges, along with bridge load ratings. Includes checking calculations and designs done by others.
Lead multi-disciplined transportation design teams as a Project Manager or Task Lead for local and workshare projects.
Lead in the development and the review of proposals, project scopes, schedules, and budgets
Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects.
Work on projects that typically include bridge (predominantly steel plate girder, prestress concrete) box culvert, and retaining wall design for highway projects.
Mentor less-experienced staff. You will be viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design with a proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects.
Serve as a technical specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
Perform other duties as needed
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
10+ years bridge/structural design experience.
2+ years of leading bridge design tasks or project management of highway projects.
Experience with local owners (ITD or local municipalities).
Idaho PE licensure required or ability to obtain in Idaho within 6 months
Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects.
Solid experience using Microstation/AutoCAD, Mathcad, LARSA 4D (or similar structural analysis software), and prestressed concrete and steel girder design software.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the LRFD Bridge Design Code.
Previous experience working with state and local agencies on federal aid projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Experience using structural analysis programs, bridge design software, load rating and bridge rehabilitation.
Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams.
Project management skills desirable.
Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects.

Master's degree in Structural Engineering
Preference given to local candidates.
