This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 5:00am - 2:00pm & Friday: 5:00am - 11:00am; overtime as needed

The Mold Line Operator is responsible for participating in a 10-job rotation on a paced production line that incorporates all of the necessary functions required to create quality sand castings for memorial plates.
Responsibilities- Assembling the pattern, flask, gate, and core print
- Monitoring the spraying booth that applies the releasing agent on the pattern
- Ensuring the pattern meets work order specifications
- Scanning work orders to record work performed in the JDE system as needed
- Making adjustments on the sand machine to accommodate mold size
- Using the strike-off board to move sand back and forth, filling all gaps and striking any excess sand off of the mold
- Operating the sand machine to fan thin layers of sand
- Forming and shaping sprue on the cope side of the mold
- Leveling sand to ensure it is evenly distributed across the entire mold
- Breaking excess sand on the waste conveyor
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position such as repetitive bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects. Applicants must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for the entire shift.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
- General math skills.
- Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
- Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
- Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
- Candidates must be willing to be trained in all areas of the mold line.
