Position Overview
Project Coordinator II – Fort Irwin Cultural Resource Management Program. Coordinates and provides management support for projects under the Fort Irwin National Historic Preservation Act consultation and documentation, Section
106/110, and other related programs.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and management support for Fort Irwin National Historic Preservation Act consultation and documentation under Section
106/110. - Coordinate project activities, including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls.
- Recommend program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
- Geospatial mapping of cultural resources and other GIS work.
- Conduct technical report reviews and revisions.
- Develop and revise Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) and Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) plans of action to address inadvertent discoveries.
- Assist with execution of tasks within the Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) and agreement documents, such as programmatic agreements.
- Support tribal consultation, meetings, and site visits.
- Track permit and project milestone dates and deadlines.
- Assist with documentation and evaluation of built features and structures, archaeological sites, sacred sites, and traditional cultural places.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Four years of related experience.
- Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Standard proofreading skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds in the future.
