Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Specialty

Our outpatient orthopedic surgery clinic is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate patient care from intake through surgery. The RN will work closely with orthopedic surgeons across our Short Pump, Downtown, and Stony Point clinics in a dynamic, no-weekend outpatient setting.

• Coordinate patient care from pre-op to post-op, ensuring a seamless surgical experience.
• Provide expert-level, age-specific nursing care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Accurately document patient care, assessments, and responses to treatment.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying potential interactions or incompatibilities.
• Serve as an Orthopedic Surgery Support Nurse, offering specialized expertise in orthopedic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery, and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient wellness and injury prevention.

• Active RN license in Virginia.
• BSN or MSN preferred; all RNs must enroll and complete a BSN program within five years of hire.
• BLS and ACLS certification (as required for the role).
• Previous experience in orthopedic, perioperative, or surgical nursing is a plus.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia; AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent for continued employment.
