Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations. You will:
- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, including AIDS education and self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and initiate emergencies per SOPs, including coordinating transport to emergency facilities.
- Communicate findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, ensuring donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, refer to occupational health/ER when needed, and follow EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate-equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completed FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationU.S. hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98, depending on qualifications, experience, and location. U.S. based employees may also receive short‑term incentives and participation in additional benefits such as 401(k), disability coverage, and up to 80 sick hours per calendar year.
