SUMMARY:
The Instructional Coach will enhance instructional practices, contribute to curriculum development, and influence the professional growth of teachers. The focus will be on providing targeted support across content areas, ensuring alignment with state and local assessments. This position will involve collaboration with teachers, administrators, and interventionists to enhance instructional strategies, foster classroom innovation, and improve student outcomes. The Instructional Coach will serve as the District Assessment Coordinator and manage all Weld RE-1 state assessments, including training, assessment platforms and logistics, accommodations, reporting and test security.
This position will communicate with the Colorado Department of Education and various testing contractors.

Teacher Support and Professional Learning:
- Develop and deliver differentiated professional learning opportunities to address the diverse needs of educators and students.
- Assist the Director of Teaching and Learning in planning, facilitating and evaluating professional learning
- Collaborate with a team to manage course entry, registrations, transcripts and course evaluations within a software system.
- Provide targeted, job-embedded professional learning opportunities for teachers, addressing specific needs identified through data analysis and observation.
- Support teachers in understanding and implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support, to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Participate in district professional development offerings, and support teachers and administrators in applying new learning and initiatives.
- Research instructional technology and assist with the instructional implementation designed for improved student achievement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging educators to explore new approaches and methodologies.

Curriculum and Instructional Planning:
- Align instructional coaching practices and support with the Weld RE-1 Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective and research-based instructional best strategies.
- Model effective instruction, and provide support to allow teachers to practice and refine instructional strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of common assessments that align with standards, proficiency scales and priority evidence outcomes.
- Provide guidance on best practices and differentiated instruction for multilingual learners, students with special needs and gifted learners.
- Support teachers in implementing innovative instructional methods and technologies.
- Participate on district leadership committees to support implementation of the Instructional Framework and new curriculum adoptions.

Assessment:
- Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator, participate in training and technical assistance opportunities and act as a liaison with the Colorado Department of Education.
- Coordinate test administration for local and state tests including preparation, training, security, reporting, troubleshooting, and management of test materials.
- Manage and maintain assessment data management systems and account permissions.
- Ensure compliance with identification, documentation, training and access for appropriate accommodations.
- Collaborate with IT staff, School Assessment Coordinators and other district personnel to support test administration and to interpret and communicate data.
- Work closely with teachers to analyze and interpret state and local assessment data, using findings to inform instructional decisions and strategies.

Professional Learning Communities:
- Plan, model or facilitate Professional learning Communities (PLCs).
- Integrate research-based practices, educational trends, and innovations with support for collaborative planning.
- Support new teacher mentoring and induction programming.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with school leadership, coordinators, and other instructional coaches to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning.
- Communicate regularly to share scheduling information and data with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders, and to promote the impact of instructional coaching.
