Primary Responsibility

Under the direction of a designated campus leader, the Campus Child Care Specialist is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging care for children during designed hours on campus. This role supports the colleges' commitment to family-friendly policies and helps ensure that parents can participate fully in academic responsibilities.

The Childcare Specialist is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the childcare assistants. The position is and responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contract agencies and CMC policies. The Childcare Specialist works collegially with parents and other staff and faculty members of CMC.

For the lead role is responsible for the coordination of childcare services and scheduling offerings during schedule hours for students while they are on campus for classes or other required activities.

* This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC's work week. CMC's workweek is Saturday through Friday.

The work hours for this position will be primarily evenings and approximately 10-15 hours per week, days and times may vary.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include high school or GED with a combination of six months of equivalent education/training and childcare experience or associate's degree in early childhood education, or related field, and some related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.

Demonstrated experience working with the needs and concerns of college student parents who have childcare requirements.

First aid and CPR certification are preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position:
Position requires a responsible, kind and dedicated individual to provide quality caring and enrichment activities for children ages three through twelve. Position must be adept in understanding staffing and turnover within Early Childhood education so to ensure consistency and quality of staff. Exhibit exceptional verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Organize and prioritize work while exercising flexibility, teamwork, and humor.

This position requires the employee to be a resident of the State of Colorado or obtain residency within 30 days of hire and perform all work duties within the state.

The hiring pay rate is $25.19 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience. Although a hiring rate is listed, this will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
