Position Description Receiving Material Handler IIs are responsible for safe, timely, and accurate receiving, unloading, staging, distributing, stocking, and pulling raw goods throughout the building manually and by use of power equipment. Receiving Material Handler IIs will support accuracy of inventory through accurate daily work, cycle counts, and root cause analysis of discrepancies.
Receiving Material Handler II responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Verify product quantities, labels, and other receiving documentation to ensure accurate receipt of products, and order fulfillment. Ensure material system transfers are completed per procedures. Safely and timely deliver orders to appropriate locations in production departments with necessary assistance and direction from department leadership. Utilize WMS and ERP to receive shipments, track and maintain inventory records, and perform cycle counts to minimize discrepancies and stock shortages.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with company safety standards. Load, unload, move, stage, pick, and store materials efficiently while preventing product damage. Train incoming employees on receiving procedures, inventory processes, equipment operation, and workplace safety requirements. Provide ongoing coaching and support to improve team productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. Prioritize daily receiving tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
Keep work areas organized, and materials properly staged to support safe and productive operations. Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, order issues, or receiving problems, working cross-functionally with Production, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Scheduling to achieve timely resolution. Perform root cause analysis and provide feedback and suggestions to support process improvements. Maintain productivity individually and as a group by assisting others in the department with task completion when individual work is finished.
Qualifications for the Receiving Material Handler II include:
Excellent attention to detail, and problem solving. Written and oral communication skills. Highly self-motivated and able to stay on task at all times. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 5+ years of experience in warehouses with 2 years focus in receiving. 2+ years of power equipment operation. 2+ years of WMS exp, and basic understanding of ERP systems. Understanding of inventory management including cycle counts.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. LEAN and Continuous Improvement experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits The starting pay rate for this position is anticipated to be from $20-25 hourly dependent upon experience.
