Senior RF Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

Senior RF Mechanical Engineer – Columbia, MD (Onsite)

Security clearance requirement: U.S. citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance are required. Experience with the procurement of clearance is mandatory.

• Serve as a technical resource to the organization.
• Collaborate in a multi‑discipline team setting to solve complex engineering problems.
• Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF and photonic product designs.
• Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate fabrication.
• Perform hands‑on integration and test support for prototype hardware.
• Hold design and drawing reviews with peers and subject‑matter experts.
• Support lab operations by designing, fabricating, and troubleshooting test fixturing and equipment.
• Manage supplier relationships for built‑to‑print or built‑to‑specification RF and photonic products.

You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in mechanical design.
• Proficiency with solid modeling tools such as CREO.
• Experience in rapid prototyping and hardware integration.

• Experience working with optical fiber splicers.
• Experience potting RF or photonic systems.
• Experience creating engineering drawings.
• Experience fabricating prototype designs.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multi‑discipline team.
• Experience supporting lab operations.
• Self‑motivated problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

• Salary range: USD 95,500 – 181,700, based on experience.
