General Laborer

Position Overview

Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking motivated General Laborers for heavy civil infrastructure and roadway projects throughout the Columbus District of Georgia
. This position works alongside skilled tradesmen and equipment operators on DOT and public infrastructure projects including roadway construction, grading, underground utilities, drainage systems, culverts, and other site development activities.

• Perform general labor duties to support heavy civil construction and earthwork operations
• Assist equipment operators with excavation, backfill, and site preparation
• Hand dig, shovel, rake, and trim as directed
• Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
• Prepare, maintain, and clean work areas, including excavation and pour sites
• Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing
• Support installation of erosion control measures and temporary traffic control
• Assist with utility installation, backfill, and compaction
• Follow directions from foremen and supervisors
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite

• Ability to perform physical labor in a heavy civil construction environment
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on uneven terrain
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew

• Prior experience in earthwork, excavation, or roadway construction
• Willing to offer on the job training
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction equipment
