What You’ll Do
Guided by the Agency's mission "To reduce recidivism among those we touch," the Division of Parole & Community Services seeks a dedicated security-minded individual to serve as an Administrative Professional 1 in Franklin County, located within the Field Services Warrant Section. The position is scheduled for First Shift (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) Sunday through Saturday with Thursday/Friday off.
Job Duties- Works under general supervision and demonstrates extensive knowledge of clerical functions and office procedures.
- Oversees warrants, detainers, and extradition operations within the Adult Parole Authority Field Services Section for persons under the supervision of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction.
- Uses LEADS terminal, NCIC computer, OCN, OHLEG, and BCI&I terminal to compile and generate reports involving complex technical, legal, statistical, and confidential material from written or oral instructions.
- Follows LEADS protocols for warrants, including validating warrants entered by OSHP within the required timeframe, performing second checks, and adding missing information.
- Enters confidential criminal offense data and identifying information and retrieves data and reports within the computer system.
- Evaluates available records, creates and maintains files and reports, retrieves materials, and works with the OSHP Communication Center for warrant files.
- Communicates information to staff regarding notifications of protection orders and detainer notifications.
- Maintains inventory, verifies and updates assets assigned to ODRC permanent staff, orders office supplies, goods, and equipment.
- Schedules maintenance on office equipment and maintains Fleet hub documentation for state vehicles.
- Receives visitors, answers routine requests and after‑hour calls from the monitoring center.
- Schedules training sessions, other meetings, processes incoming and outgoing mail, logs material, and types routine correspondence.
- Attends meetings, trainings, and conferences; may give presentations and conduct training.
- Responds verbally and in writing to questions and concerns.
- Works on special projects or committees as assigned.
- Conducts oneself professionally and in a law‑abiding manner at all times in accordance with Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction’s Standards of Employee Conduct.
- Travel within the local area may be required and performs other duties as assigned.
- 1 year of training or 1 year of experience in secretarial science or business office applications.
- For positions requiring technical terminology, at least 6 months of training or 6 months of experience in relevant technical terminology.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.
- Attention to detail, strong administrative support and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate complex data systems and software (LEADS, NCIC, OCN, OHLEG, BCI&I).
Work Location:
DPCS Franklin, Franklin County, Columbus, OH (United States of America).
Schedule:
Full‑time, 40 hours per week, First Shift (8:00 AM‑4:00 PM) Sunday through Saturday with Thursday/Friday off.
Compensation: $21.93 per hour.
