Job Description

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking an experienced data analytics and science professional to lead our enterprise dashboarding and data visualization initiatives. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by advancing data visualization, optimizing dashboard performance, and informing the health care of millions of Ohioans. The position oversees the Dashboard Operations Team and guides contractor resources to deliver high‑quality visualization products across the agency.

• Serve as the organization’s data visualization subject matter expert (SME).
• Oversee the development of interactive Medicaid dashboards that support program operations, policy monitoring, and transparency for constituents.
• Create an agile dashboard development framework, oversee Tableau cloud migration initiatives, and provide analytics governance recommendations.
• Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Team to develop WCAG 2.1 AA+ compliant public‑facing dashboards, including enhanced deck aides and tutorials.
• Integrate GIS, geospatial methodologies, and statistical techniques into dashboards to deliver timely, data‑driven insights.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to scale dashboard production, improve user experience, and implement intuitive design and functionality.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development to staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

• Associate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 54 months of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 months of supervisory or management experience.
• Undergraduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 48 months of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 months of supervisory or management experience.
• Graduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 36 months of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 months of supervisory or management experience.
• Equivalent of the minimum class qualifications noted above.
• Experience with large relational databases and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau and GIS).
• Familiarity with cloud solutions.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for managing, coaching, and developing staff.
