Custodian II - 3rd Shift

Perry Middle School, Perry, OH (Lake County)

260 days per year, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm‑7:30 am (8 hrs per day). Summer hours may be shifted according to district needs.

Full‑time position, equating to 40 hours per week. Hours may include afternoon, weekend, evening and/or weekend shift requirements and may remain subject to change based on district needs.

• Hourly rate $18.93–$26.56
• Shift differential commensurate with experience, per OAPSE negotiated agreement

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintain equipment in functional condition.
• Effectively utilize necessary equipment to perform essential custodial job functions.
• Unload, transport and maintain equipment, materials and supplies.
• Assist with district and community activity/event set up and clean up.
• Perform seasonal duties including lawn/landscape care and snow removal.
• Promote good safety practices and use hand tools of the trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow removal equipment, power mower and hand tools.
• Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment.
• Occasional requirement to lift and carry various items weighing a minimum of 30 pounds; push and pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds (on wheels).

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's license and ability to provide own transportation.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and ability to use most common hand/power tools.
• Physical ability to lift, stand, climb, walk, and lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
