These are the qualifications that matter.
- Must provide own tools
- Working knowledge of injection molding equipment, mold handling, and mold storage procedures
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools
- Strong understanding of quality control and inspection processes
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety procedures and regulations
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Collaborate with engineering teams on the design and development of new molds
- Perform mold trials, samplings, and pilot production runs
- Develop, optimize, and document injection molding processes for new tooling
- Implement and document Scientific Molding practices and process improvements
- Provide feedback to engineering regarding tooling performance and mold conditions
- Establish labor requirements and production standards for new molds
- Recommend automation and auxiliary equipment to improve efficiency and reduce labor costs
- Maintain molding process documentation, machine specifications, and technical records
- Lead training initiatives and provide technical support for molding operations
- Drive continuous improvement efforts related to molding processes, quality, and productivity
