DevOps Engineer

Overview

Hybrid 3 days/week in Concord, CA. Our client seeks a Dev Ops Engineer to design and operate GCP infrastructure with Terraform and Vertex AI to enable Generative AI workloads. The role will design scalable cloud architectures, build reusable Terraform modules, and integrate GenAI models into production systems. The engineer will collaborate across teams, optimize performance and security, and maintain clear documentation to support reliable delivery.

Rate: $70.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement cloud architecture best practices.
• Utilize Vertex AI to build, deploy, and manage machine learning models and workflows focused on Generative AI applications.
• Integrate GenAI models into existing systems and workflows to enhance business processes and capabilities.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure‑related issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current with GCP services and GenAI advancements to evaluate their impact on infrastructure.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuity.

• Proven experience as a Dev Ops Engineer with a focus on GCP.
• Expertise with Terraform for infrastructure as code and building reusable modules.
• In‑depth knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Big Query, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine.
• Strong understanding of Vertex AI and its application in machine learning and GenAI workflows.
• Extensive experience deploying Generative AI models in production environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Git Lab CI.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python or Bash.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (preferred).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
• Experience with NLP or computer vision applications in GenAI (preferred).

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification (preferred).
• GCP Professional Dev Ops Engineer certification (preferred).
