Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher (12-month position, full-time)

About Tot SpotTot Spot is an on-site child care program for infant/toddler and preschool aged children located on Landmark School’s high school campus. As part of Landmark School, Tot Spot is a practicum space for Landmark high school students who are enrolled in Early Childhood Education classes. We recognize the various developmental stages experienced by infants, toddlers and preschoolers as they grow and teach each child according to their developmental level and needs.
Children learn through play. Therefore, many of our activities are play oriented. Our program offers each child a range of play and learning experiences that foster self-reliance, self-expression, responsibility and cooperation.
Tot Spot, Landmark School’s on-campus childcare center, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and education for young children, create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment, and model professional standards for co-teachers.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise classroom operations and lead curriculum planning and implementation.
- Primary liaison between the classroom and parents, maintaining open and consistent communication.
- Ensure classroom philosophy and discipline are consistent with center policies.
- Train, mentor, and model professional behavior for co-teachers and support staff.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and communication with families and the program director.
- Create and sustain a safe, engaging, and well-maintained learning environment.
- Assume administrative responsibilities when the program director is off-site.
- Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Lead Teacher certification required.
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and administrators.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds and sights in the classroom and on the play yards
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Ability to position self to play with children on the floor
- Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions

The expected salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, relevant experience, education, and alignment with Landmark School’s pay framework for internal equity. In addition to salary, Landmark offers a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.
