Maintenance Controls Technician
Location:
Oxford, NC, US
Salary: USD $32.89 – $39.00 / hr
Join our Maintenance Team and contribute to enhancing process reliability, product quality, and overall plant performance. As a Maintenance Controls Technician, you will be integral to maintaining and improving our control systems and instrumentation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Consult diagrams, technical documentation, schematics, manuals, and codes.
- Maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation.
- Manage SCADA devices in an industrial environment.
- Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog, and digital).
- Configure and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC).
- Organize and order PLC control components to support plant process control systems.
- Collaborate with corporate IT staff on network and computer activities as needed.
- Prepare technical reports documenting equipment issues and changes.
- Manage projects for implementing changes and improvements.
- Be on call to support production needs.
- Install and terminate electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections.
- Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
- Remove, repair, adjust, and replace components.
- Calibrate components and systems.
- Assist engineering in plant design, modification, and hazard analysis.
- Maintain various computer-based control systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and stay current with technological advancements.
- Transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers, and final control elements used for measuring and controlling variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills with effective time management.
- Detail-oriented work style and dedication to meeting expectations.
- Team-oriented with the ability to assertively handle tasks.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience with PLC logic and programming, particularly with Allen Bradley PLCs and other controllers.
- Ability to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, simulation, testing, and start-up.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
