Location: Maromas
Position Overview
Pratt & Whitney – Aviation Engine Manufacturing, 2nd shift inspector position located at the Asheville, NC facility.
Shift & Work HoursMon – Thurs, 4:15pm – 2:45am (2nd shift). Overtime may be required.
What You Will Do- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on parts, tools, gauges, and equipment per written procedures, drawings, and instructions.
- Accept material or refer for rework or quality review based on findings.
- Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines, to check dimensions, record results, and document nonconformance.
- Conduct problem solving to determine extent of nonconformance and complete required documentation.
- Execute in‑line checks and verification of dimensions to ensure process steps are followed.
- Perform Solumina required job audits for Op Cert surveillance and conduct OpCert over‑inspects as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with customer and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Joint Aviation Administration (JAA) technical data.
- Train other operators to perform work tasks and provide technical support.
- Demonstrate effective leadership skills and maintain a strong working relationship with the Operations team.
- Follow all proper procedures for documentation and inline checks.
- Complete detailed inspection certification upon conclusion of training.
- Inspections of blades and vanes, including over‑inspects for operators.
- Reading blueprints, using basic hand gauges, and applying technical standards.
- Performing visual inspections, writing Quality Notifications, and conducting over‑inspects.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Previous quality inspection experience.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector.
- Previous aerospace manufacturing experience.
- SAP experience.
- Experience using Keyence or Profilometer measuring equipment.
- Microsoft Office experience.
