Position SummaryWe need a full‑time Certified Welding Inspector to work in our Hartland, WI office. The position requires Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm, is exempt, and requires relocation within the Hartland/Milwaukee, WI area.
Ideal CandidateHighly organized, detail‑oriented, problem solver, technically knowledgeable, and team‑oriented. Must hold a certification in AWS and/or CWI.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Graduate or higher.
- Technical, welding or quality‑related higher education preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience.
- Current CWI certification required.
- NDE and Auditor certifications are a plus.
- Experience inspecting piping, pressure vessels and structural fabrications to the applicable codes.
- Experience with supplier surveillance and reviewing quality documentation such as WPS/PQRs, NDE reports and material certificates.
- Travel of 30‑40% domestic and overseas required.
- Valid driver license and passport required.
- Track and ensure closure of all nonconformities.
- Submit required project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to the customer in a timely and complete manner.
- Review contract documents and applicable job specifications (Turnover Packages) to assure that customer requirements for projects are met or that exceptions are taken as necessary.
- Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans; inspect pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications to applicable codes; assure project quality requirements are met and properly documented.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal project teams on a daily basis.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and P&.
- Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding requirements.
- Knowledge of ASME Sections V, VIII/IX, B31.1, B31.3, and AWS D1.1 codes.
- Professional communication with suppliers and customers.
- Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into project quality plans and I&TPs.
- Proficient in using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to use a computer.
Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs; climbing ladders and working at heights may be required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn on site. The role involves extended periods of sitting at a desk and requires high concentration in a busy area.
