Become a key part of hip hop education at the University of Regina by teaching CTCH 205 in Fall 2026, focusing on culture, politics, and identities. Engage in both teaching and workshop facilitation.
The Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance is looking for a sessional instructor for CTCH 205, designed for candidates with an MA, MFA, or PhD. Applicants must have experience running hands-on workshops, such as DJing and beat making, and should have a firm grasp of theories relevant to hip hop culture. Manage classroom technology while submitting a sample syllabus for review.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide students through hip hop culture and politics
• Conduct practical workshops on hip hop production
• Effectively manage classroom technology
• Present a sample syllabus tailored to the course
• Teach on Wednesdays from 14h30‑17h15
Requirements:
• Must hold a MA, MFA, or PhD
• Experience in university teaching required
• Background in facilitating workshops
• Knowledge of hip hop cultural theories necessary
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Foster student engagement and understanding of hip hop through innovative teaching methods at the University of Regina.
