JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Coordinator plans, organizes, coordinates, and helps implement comprehensive safety programs and activities; assists with safety training requirements; inspects facilities/departments for safety compliance; and performs a variety of administrative tasks to support our Department Leadership Teams across the company. A goal for this position is to help provide more safety program administrative support for our Leadership Team to improve regulatory compliance, help identify improvement opportunities, communicate and track corrective action items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
  • Works closely with our leadership team as an administrative resource to facilitate compliance with our Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Safety Participation Program, safety inspections, pressure vessel permits, DMV records, etc. to assure compliance.
  • Supports Corporate Safety Department with program administration, compliance management, documentation, updating, training, scheduling, and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.
  • Manages our DMV Pull Notice Program daily by monitoring, tracking, updating, and distributing information.
  • Manages our Fleet Management GPS tracking system daily and works with our leadership team to help improve employee driving behaviors.
  • Manages the administrative duties for our Pressure Vessel Permit Program in Intelex.
  • Manages the administrative duties for our Safety Participation Program.
  • Manages our Hearing Conservation Testing at the sites.
  • Schedules Driver Safety and other trainings to help the Safety Specialists.
  • Conducts safety inspections and Behavioral Based Safety Observations.
  • Conducts incident investigations for Near Miss or First Aid cases.
  • Assists with document translation to Spanish.
  • Conducts safety training in English and Spanish.
  • Manages the updating of our Workplace Postings and 300A logs at the sites.
  • Provides safety support, information, and PPE to operations personnel.
  • Assists with other safety related duties as necessary.
  • Responsible for performing all job requirements in a safe manner and being a proactive safety role model for co-workers.
  • Responsible for completing all duties in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for following instructions and managing time efficiently.
  • Responsible for completing all duties with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, computers, telephone system, scanner/copier.
  • Must have a good driving record that meets Company Driver Safety Policy requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma/GED. A.A. or A.S. degree preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years experienced in administrative program or office management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment and includes outdoor responsibilities. While performing some duties of this job, the employee may work around pesticides, chemicals, airborne particles, or moving machinery and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Employee will travel in a company vehicle between Corcoran and Bakersfield to various sites as needed to perform duties.

This position will be supported by the Corporate Safety Department Team.

Pay Range: $18-$20/hr
