Position: Cyber Security Engineer - Application Security (IT Security Engineer, Staff), Cork, Ireland

Overview We are looking to hire this role on a 12 mth fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The Information Security & Risk Management organization is looking for a strong team player with significant industry experience with IT Infrastructure and Information Security. The role will be responsible for conducting cyber security reviews on IT and Business systems, and managing the resolution of findings to reduce risk to the company. The position will reside in Cork, Ireland with the candidate working in a global, cross-functional role that will ensure consistent application of Information Security best practices to the business. Responsibilities:
  • Performing security reviews and risk management activities, such as:
  • Assist in specification, development, deployment, and usage of complex cyber security systems through global environments
  • Partnering with Business and Engineering leads to influence the adoption of Information Security best practices during the requirements phase of a project
  • Information Security internal consults during the feasibility, design, and implementation phases of a project
  • Acquisition technical support
  • Validation of Information Security best practices Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Vulnerability and Compliance monitoring, tracking and resolution
  • Data leak monitoring, tracking, and resolution
  • Work with various IT and business unit leads to ensure timely and accurate reports, proper handling of security information and develop/optimize cyber reporting capabilities
  • Support other ISRM activities, goals, and objectives
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years IT-relevant work experience OR 7+ years IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.

  • Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate
  • Experience conducting application penetration tests, running web application and API testing tools, performing manual testing and source code reviews, validating test results, identifying root causes, analyzing vulnerabilities, and helping develop platform-specific remediation plans.
  • Solid knowledge of established penetration frameworks such as the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Testing Guide, Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES) or Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM).
  • Solid knowledge of common Web Application vulnerabilities like SQLi, XSS, CSRF, and HTTP Flooding
  • Experience using leading vulnerability testing tools such as Fortify SCA & WebInspect, Nmap, Nessus, Qualys, Metasploit, Kali, and Burp Suite Professional.
  • Knowledge of security automation through continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Exceptional communications skills with fluency in English desired; strong bi-lingual communications skills a plus
  • One or more of the following security certifications preferred: GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT), GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst (GMOB), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or similar security certification(s).
  • Education Requirements Required: Bachelors of Science in: Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, or Information Technology; or equivalent experience


    Preferred: Masters of Science in Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, or Information Technology
