Position:  QC Chemistry Analyst, Perm, Cork

Excellent opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join a leading pharmaceutical company in East Cork.

The QC Analyst Chemistry will coordinate and lead a small QC Chemistry Lab team (1 Analyst) so that productivity, quality, documentation, work schedules, safety and housekeeping are run at maximum efficiency.

Candidates with a a PhD in Chemistry and at least 2 year's industry experience are strongly encouraged to apply as are senior Chemistry QC Analysts working in the med device/food industries. The QC Analyst Chemistry will be responsible for performing routine analysis of finished product samples using Karl Fisher, Content Uniformity, Dissolution or HPLC.

Responsibilities
* Perform routine analysis of finished product samples using Karl Fisher, Content Uniformity, Dissolution or HPLC as requested by the client.
* Preparing and approving results for tests in which they have received the appropriate training and are deemed competent.
* Completion of training records, and ensuring that all records presented for review and approval are at the appropriate standard.
* Providing training to other team members as required. Ensuring all training delivered is documented appropriately.
* Ensuring at all times that all documentation and laboratory records are up to date and of an appropriate standard.
* Ensuring that all work carried out is approached “Right First Time” so as to avoid any re-work or errors.
* Being constantly aware of client's requirements and striving to meet or exceed those requirements keeping in mind the client process end points.
* Maintain a clear understanding of the client relationship and service goals and help others achieve the same. Maintain a clear understanding of the client process flow in terms of destination and use of data generated, and consequences of sub-standard data, and help others achieve the same.
* Dealing with client queries and to contact designated personnel with any relevant information or issues relating to test results or the service in general.
* Being an active member of the QC environment, provide assistance to other groups and areas as required. Help plan for future activities and anticipate future requirements.
* Keeping up to date with any technological or method revisions in their area, ensuring their training is complete and adjusting their work as required in collaboration with the client.
* Performing second person verification checks as required by the laboratory schedule.
* Being the main point of contact for the team and the client in terms of service provision discussions.
* Reviewing and approving all relevant documentation in a timely manner and ensuring that it is communicated, documented, filed accurately, and compliant with the required standards.

Experience & Education
* Minimum BSc (Hons) in Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent)
* At least 1 years' experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity
* Minimum 4 years' experience in a fast paced QC Testing GMP Environment
* Experience with finished product release testing essential
* Experience with Waters, Empower III, labware and trackwise an advantage
* Passionate about quality and customer service.
* Excellent communication skills (internally and externally) and understanding of appropriate client interactions.
* Willing to operate in a flexible manner and be able to switch priorities at short notice.
* Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills
