Community Service Community Payback Supervisor Outcome
Overview of the job
This is an operational role directly supervising work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. The post holder will be responsible for all work site supervision tasks and will work with service users to ensure that all tasks are carried out to the best of their ability. The role may include driving service vehicles to transport people or equipment.
Responsibilities- Supervise and motivate small teams of offenders to complete unpaid community work hours.
- Plan and oversee manual tasks such as clearing overgrowth, restoring community facilities, planting trees, and litter picking.
- Ensure work is carried out safely, maintaining health and safety standards.
- Provide guidance and support to offenders, demonstrating good practice.
- Maintain accurate records of work hours and progress.
The role runs 7 days a week, with frequent weekends and some evenings. Weekend work is paid at a higher rate, 50% above normal. Rest breaks may be flexible. The position offers annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework and whole‑salary increases in line with Civil Service pay guidance. Working hours are 37 per week.
Qualifications and requirementsMandatory:
Full UK Manual Driving Licence. No automatic licence.
- Right to work in the UK and meet Civil Service nationality rules.
- Experience supervising teams and managing manual tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and the ability to take the lead.
