Position Summary

This recruitment will fill fifteen (15) part-time (maximum 24 h per week) FRC ECE Aide positions for the Family Resource Center  Aide supports lead and assistant teachers in any of the Center’s Early Care and Education centers on the OSU Corvallis campus. They serve as on‑call staff during absences and vacations, assisting with day‑to‑day classroom operations and supporting a learning environment that encourages inquiry, diversity, and equity.

Position Duties
  • Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate, play‑based, culturally responsive, and equity‑oriented educational program for an assigned age range.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe, attractive, neat, and functional indoor/outdoor environment as a teaching tool.
  • Support lead and assistant teachers with daily documentation.
  • Assist with lunch and break time schedules.
  • Assist with bottle preparation and snack preparation.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere with other teachers and staff.
  • Supervise and interact daily with children both indoors and outdoors, maintaining mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy levels.
  • Engage in physical movements required for supervision and curriculum delivery (lifting, reaching, squatting, etc.).
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations.
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on suspension are not eligible.
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standards:
    • High School: regularly enrolled or in a home‑schooling program.
    • Undergraduate/Post‑baccalaureate: 6 credit hours per term.
    • Undergraduate International: 12 credit hours per term.
    • Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
    • Graduate International: 9 credit hours per term.

* International students may carry fewer hours than specified and still be “full‑time” by USCIS, subject to approval by the Office of International Services.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience caring for children 0–5 years old.
  • Demonstrated contributions to promoting and enhancing diversity.
  • Food Handler’s Certification.
  • Oregon ELC Background Clearance – Criminal Background Registry (C ).
  • Adult & Pediatric CPR, First Aid, AED within 90 days of employment.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Experience in a licensed early care and education center.
  • Previous or current college courses in Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Special Education, or related field.
