The Department of Horticulture invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track full/part‑time Instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year and the Fall Term 2026. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to a permanent instructional position.
In 2025‑2026 we seek faculty to cover undergraduate courses in organic agriculture, urban agriculture, plant breeding and genetics, and landscape construction and management, including campus‑based and E‑campus offerings.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and facilitate courses and assess student performance, including grade assignment.
- Promote equitable learning outcomes among students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
- Master’s degree in horticulture, plant sciences, entomology, or a related field.
- Previous undergraduate teaching experience.
- Evidence of inclusive teaching practices and commitment to student success.
- Content knowledge in the areas of teaching need.
- Willingness to complete required safety trainings for lab and field instruction.
- Knowledge of field and lab safety and appropriate use of facilities, materials, and equipment.
- Work schedule may vary based on student needs and campus or program activities.
- Some courses may be taught outdoors or in greenhouse environments with variable temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions.
- Physical requirements may include lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling plants, pots, or samples.
