Summary:
The Engineer will be responsible for design and integration of advanced hardware for air vehicles. You will own the development cycle from concept to production, release, and launch of components, systems, and sub-systems for advanced air vehicles programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and integrate hardware on unmanned air vehicles
- Develop and mature components from concept through production
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
- Coordinate engineering designs and systems with purchasing, suppliers, testing team, manufacturing team, other vehicle subsystems and functions
- Responsible for quality of components and/or subsystem 3D CAD and technical drawings
- Work with suppliers to create specifications and requirements of the components.
- Provide technical support and system analysis for root cause analysis of development issues
- Coordinate, lead and participate in design reviews
- Remain up-to-date in relevant new technology and products
- Travel as required
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 5 years relevant experience.
- Education with the following specialties preferred:
Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing. - Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into advanced air vehicles
- Experience and proficiency in 3D designing mechanical parts in NX CAD.
- Experience with analysis using FEMAP.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc)
- High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
- Experience developing aircraft subsystem layouts, performing architectural trade studies, and evaluating vendor performance data
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
California Pay Range
$58-$66 USD
