The Superintendent position performs various job duties to ensure the efficient treatment and compliance of the facility, including all operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Plant. The Superintendent must have experience and knowledge of Wastewater Treatment, Maintenance, Safe Working Practices, Math, Problem Solving, Completion and filing of DEQ reports and all other facets of running a treatment facility. The Wastewater Treatment Plant is a class 4 facility, capable of treating peak flows of 14.0 MGD and an average flow of 1.2 MGD in summer and 3.5 MGD in winter.

The City of Cottage Grove offers a competitive salary; the salary range is $7,828.00 to $9,991.00 per month, with hiring pay anticipated at step 1 of the range. • High school graduation or equivalency plus a minimum two years of college-level coursework in wastewater treatment or related field, AND
• Five (5) years’ experience in Wastewater Treatment, including a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience, OR
• Any satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.
• Must possess level IV Wastewater Treatment Certification or obtain within 6 months of appointment.
