About the Role

The Dispatch role is critical in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of transportation and logistics operations within the organization. The primary objective is to manage and optimize the scheduling and routing of fleet vehicles to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). This position requires close collaboration with warehouse teams, drivers, and management to ensure efficient inventory flow and timely dispatching of goods.

The role also involves monitoring transportation management systems to track shipments, resolve issues proactively, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Dispatch professional plays a pivotal role in supporting operational efficiency, cost control, and team coordination across the supply chain.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience in dispatching or transportation management within a logistics or fleet environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT compliance requirements and transportation regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for data tracking, reporting, and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple dispatch schedules simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with transportation management software (TMS) and fleet management systems.
  • Background in warehousing operations and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability in operations management and process improvement.
  • Team leadership or team building experience within a logistics or transportation setting.
  • Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily dispatch operations by scheduling and routing fleet vehicles to meet delivery and pickup requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies related to transportation and fleet management.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to manage inventory levels and prepare shipments for timely dispatch.
  • Monitor transportation management systems and communicate with drivers to address delays, route changes, or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, vehicle maintenance schedules, and driver logs using Microsoft Office Excel and other tools.
  • Support operations management by providing data and insights to improve dispatch efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Foster team building and communication among dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse staff to promote a collaborative work environment.
