Reports To: Principal / Assistant Principal

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with valid Georgia teaching certificate.
• Professional Qualifications and in-field status to teach subject and/or class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission; must pass a content knowledge test accepted by PSC or provide written documentation to exempt the test within 20 days of employment.
• Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co‑workers.

• Instruct students using the Georgia Performance Standards and appropriate, research‑based instructional strategies.
• Support students in building background knowledge to aid in the acquisition of the Georgia Performance Standards.
• Support students while using instructional technology.
• Be present at work every day, on time, and perform all duties effectively and efficiently.
• Appear neat and professionally, befitting the job and the school system.
• Exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor at all times when dealing with the board, school administration, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public.
• Teach one or more subjects in the school, within the framework of the system’s goals; plan and implement appropriate long‑ and short‑range objectives for each assigned course.
• Participate in continuous improvement, faithfully engaging in system and local professional learning; apply skills and best practices obtained in professional learning to raise student achievement.
• Assess student abilities consistently as related to educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Manage learner behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment and assist in managing behavior in other parts of the school and grounds.
• Work in a self‑contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned; collaborate cooperatively in horizontal and vertical teams to review assessment data and modify instruction for improved achievement.
• Maintain up‑to‑date, accurate student grade and attendance records.
• Communicate continuously with parents, written and orally, to inform them of student progress and behavior.
• Supervise teacher assistant performance if applicable.
• Participate in facility and professional meetings, professional learning, and other trainings with the Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
• Contribute to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the workplace.
• Meet the performance and behavioral expectations set by the principal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
