Key Responsibilities;

The role of Assistant Surveyor is to assist the Senior Surveyor,
Surveyor and Surveying Team in carrying out the day to day
commercial management of the project.

• Place uncomplicated subcontract orders
• Manage simple subcontract accounts
• Analyse the labour allocation, plant / material sheets
and ensure recovery of cost
• Assist in the pricing of variations
• Assist in accurate cash forecasting
• Assist in the signing off / allocation of plant /
material invoices
• Organise and attend pre-order meetings to
allow completion of the pre-order and contract
documentation for the orders you are responsible for
• Track subcontractors’ progress on site in order to
assess their monthly valuations and ensure changes
have been instructed both up and down the line
• Allocate the labour hours for non-contract work to
the variation number, or to the subcontractor for
contra charging
• Review the subcontractor applications for the
packages you are responsible for and have an
understanding of the sub-contract programme in
order to forecast payments
• Prepare and issue site instructions to the supply chain
• Provide general administrative support to the site
surveying team, including completing the waste
management plan, taking contract review and preorder meeting minutes, checking subcontractor
insurances, managing the subcontract tracking
schedule and carrying out any surveying related tasks
reasonably required of you

Knowledge & Experience;
(Preferred work experience and knowledge)
• Some experience of working in the construction industry
• Basic construction knowledge - depth dependent upon stage of training / experience
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel

Qualifications;
(Specific qualifications that are relevant to this role and whether they are essential or desirable)
• Unrestricted eligibility to live and work in the UK
• Ongoing or completed day release ONC/HNC or degree course in construction
• Student or Associate Membership of the CIOB or RICS
• BSc in Surveying or construction
• CSCS (manager level)
• SSSTS
