Position: Senior Engineer (Machining)

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Machining to join our client, a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing organization. Based in Dallas, TX, this role will lead the development and optimization of precision machining processes and dimensional control strategies for complex, high-tolerance components and play a key role in the company’s next phase of technical growth.

What you’ll do
  • Lead hands‑on development of machining processes for cutting, grinding, shaping, and finishing components with tight dimensional tolerances and demanding surface integrity requirements
  • Apply advanced GD&T principles to interpret engineering drawings and ensure precise part geometry, flatness, concentricity, and perpendicularity
  • Conduct statistical analysis of machining data, including Cpk/Ppk, gauge R&R, and SPC, to monitor and improve process capability
  • Lead root cause analysis of dimensional defects and machining errors; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans
  • Perform hands‑on prototyping, process trials, and first‑article inspections using metrology equipment such as vision systems and precision gauges
  • Mentor technicians and junior engineers; develop SOPs and technical documentation
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in precision machining and dimensional control
  • Advanced proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack‑up analysis
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and process capability metrics (Cpk, Ppk, SPC)
  • Experience designing and optimizing fixtures and tooling for complex geometries
  • Fluency with CAD/CAM tools such as Solid Works or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience
  • Machining brittle, hard, or difficult‑to‑machine materials such as ceramics, intermetallics, or composites
  • Advanced inspection techniques and digital metrology
  • Experience leading technical development or continuous improvement projects
  • Programming or automation applied to data analysis, data management, or process control
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and solving complex manufacturing challenges

This is a high‑impact opportunity offering competitive compensation, strong benefits, and long‑term growth while working on advanced manufacturing technologies of strategic importance.
