As a Process Engineer, you will support an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization focused on gas turbine engines and components. This role is responsible for driving engineering activities including process design, new product introduction, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across industrial facility systems and repair operations. You will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, supporting production, and ensuring high-quality, efficient repair solutions.
JOBRESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, scheduling, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for multiple projects.
- Lead engineering efforts across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural, and chemical systems.
- Develop and deploy preventative maintenance plans, operating procedures, visual aids, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Provide technical support and ownership for facility systems, process equipment, and machinery supporting MRO operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) to resolve and prevent process issues.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses and technical justifications for engineering projects.
- Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to repair processes, cycle times, non-conformances (NCTS), MRBs, and production flow.
- Develop and refine repair processes, including non-standard repairs in collaboration with OEMs and internal teams.
- Create and maintain process documentation, production routings, and repair instructions.
- Interpret and generate technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams.
- Support production environments including engine shops and component repair operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.
- Support additional engineering duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience with engines.
- Experience in aviation, aerospace, or related manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with industrial machinery such as CNC machines, vacuum furnaces, robotic cells, balance machines, or chemical processing lines.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and coordinating with technicians, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of gas turbine design theory, metallurgy, and machine shop practices.
- Strong understanding of failure analysis and FMEA methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with the General Electric CFM
56-7B engine program. - Familiarity with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations.
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or Fusion 360.
- Knowledge of repair development and process optimization in aerospace environments.
- Exposure to PLC systems (Allen Bradley, RS Logix, etc.).
- Experience with Visio, MS Access, or Smartsheets.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, EDM, heat treatment, shot peening, plasma spray, chemical cleaning, and NDT/NDI.
