As a Water Resources Engineer with HDR, you will contribute to designing safe drinking water systems, treating wastewater, and developing sustainable water supplies. Your work supports public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide project engineering and task management, conduct complex hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling and design, collect, assimilate and present data in reports, memos and public forums, lead production of design calculations and technical reports, and prepare engineering plans and specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structures.
  • Work independently while planning, organizing and assisting medium to large teams of professionals and technicians on projects or tasks.
  • Conduct water resources planning, plan formulation and concept development, and develop planning documentation.
  • Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in water resources engineering projects.
  • Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC‑RAS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, or Info Works ICM).
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD or Micro Station.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in water resources engineering projects.
  • Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
