Join Dayton Children's Hospital as a Locum Anesthesiologist and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, high-volume healthcare environment. This is a unique chance to provide essential pediatric anesthesiology services at an esteemed Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting a dedicated team of professionals while gaining valuable experience in a stimulating setting.
This position offers an engaging schedule from August 10 to November 16, 2026, with weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, overseeing approximately 50-60 surgeries per day. You will be supervising CRNAs in a collaborative, care team model, working with a diverse patient demographic from neonatal to adult age groups. The hospital features 14 operating rooms and serves an annual ER volume of 70,000, providing a bustling atmosphere for passionate anesthesiologists committed to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pediatric anesthesiology procedures within hospital-based operating rooms
- Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs
- Manage anesthesia care across a wide age range from neonates to adults
- Contribute to a cohesive and collegial team environment
- Valid state medical license and DEA certification
- Board-certified or eligible in Anesthesiology with pediatric expertise
- Demonstrated ability to supervise CRNAs
- Proven competency in managing a high-volume surgical setting
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Skills:
- Experience in trauma or emergency settings
- Additional certifications such as CAQH registration
- Knowledge of hospital-based anesthesia protocols
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Active licensure and privileges at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Prior locum or pediatric anesthesiology experience preferred
- Confirmed internal credentialing or documentation for credentialing process
- Provide necessary documentation including DOB, SSN, licenses, DEA, CSR, certifications, and CAQH login
- Immediate completion of fingerprinting and credentialing upon acceptance
- Willingness to adhere to the facility s travel policies, with reimbursements for mileage, rental car, hotel, and flights when applicable
