Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling systems.
- Implement, activate, and support CCTV, access control, video management, and intrusion systems.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and test equipment.
- Read project drawings, specifications, and submittals to develop project implementation plans.
- Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, and associated business applications to communicate and document project information.
- Maintain safety requirements and support the organization’s safety efforts.
- Ensure compliance with national and local codes and industry standards.
- Provide updates to as‑built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
- Attend and hold tool box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency, including harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
- Obtain OSHA 30 Safety and Health Standards certification.
- Work extended hours or weekend overtime may be required.
- 5 years of field experience performing low‑voltage and/or security systems.
- BICSI certification desirable but not required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license.
The employee must regularly walk, use fingers and hands, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand, and occasionally sit. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work at heights, use hand and power tools, and navigate job sites.
Work EnvironmentThe employee may work outdoors or in wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, in dust, fumes, or airborne particles, exposed to chemicals, weather, sunlight, cold, heat, electrical shock, vibration. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
