Responsibilities
The HVAC Technician maintains the safe operating condition of heating and hot‑water distribution systems in district facilities. The incumbent will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heating and air‑conditioning components, monitor performance, develop operational and maintenance procedures, evaluate installations, and verify work meets code and quality standards. They will implement a district‑wide HVAC planned maintenance program, recommend supply and equipment purchases, and perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma (or G.E.D.)
- Five years of HVAC repair and maintenance experience
- Supervisory experience
Valid Ohio driver’s license at the time of appointment and to be maintained thereafter.
General Requirements- Skilled use of materials, equipment, tools, and methods of the HVAC trade
- Knowledge of HVAC‑related building codes and safety regulations
- Physical ability to work with arms and legs; lift up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds periodically
- Ability to read and write for completing forms and reports
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Background InvestigationMust pass state and federal background checks as per Dayton Public Schools policy.
