AWC is hiring 2 Quality Assurance Specialists for our Regional Office in Dearborn, MI with a hybrid work setting: 3 days a week at our Dearborn office. This is a salaried position with a range of $80,000-$100,000 per year, paid weekly with bonus potential. The actual pay will be based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market considerations.

The Quality Assurance Specialist leads or assists with the design, implementation, and monitoring of facility-related processes and quality activities. They oversee daily tactical issues, develop processes and procedures with facility management to support quality improvement and throughput, and work with managers and QA personnel to identify concerns, create and implement corrective actions, and develop training programs. They also ensure manufacturing processes optimize throughput and support vehicle movement goals, and adapt LEAN manufacturing concepts across multiple facilities.
EssentialDuties
- Travel to facilities to lead or support continuous improvement and the company’s internal facility audit program.
- Travel to facilities to lead or support the development, implementation, and monitoring of facility-related process flow charts, SOPs, SOIs, and training processes.
- Lead or support the development, standardization, and implementation of quality verification tools/formats such as QC check sheets, TGW reporting/tracking, and data collection methods to measure current quality status.
- Assist facilities with analysis and reporting of company/customer quality status.
- Provide training and guidance in standardized problem-solving methods (A3, 8D, 5P, etc.).
- Support startup and process development for yard, rail, accessorization, and manufacturing.
- Support installation training and SIT validation.
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of LEAN concepts and Kaizen activities.
- Lead and support the year‑by‑year internal facility audit program, including reporting results and following up on improvements.
- Help create needed flow charts, SOP/ SOI procedures, and training documents, ensuring they meet requirements.
- Carry out data collection and reporting methods that drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze and report internal quality monitoring data and external quality information, perform root cause analysis, and propose robust process improvements.
- Use A3/8D/5P problem-solving to manage process concerns and provide technical direction for new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
- Ensure all new facility start‑ups and customer programs are “facility ready,” supporting startup meetings and reporting status.
- Assist with installation training and SIT validation, working with facility management on validation and training.
- Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned.
Computer with internet access and a work area, including printer access.
Working Conditions- Majority of work is indoors.
- Will be exposed to all types of weather conditions when visiting other facilities.
- Significant travel (up to 50%) within the U.S. and Canada is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in quality or manufacturing technology (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of related experience with a strong automotive background.
- Experience with quality assurance tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing practices.
