About the role:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner located in Deer Park, TX. In this role, you will create job packages for exchangers, columns, piping, and rotating equipment. The job scope includes all information regarding required labor, material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. You will apply broadened technical skills in analytical or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities and may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

/ Duties
  • Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans.
  • Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders to the gatekeeper if incomplete.
  • Creates job plans and packages that contain details of the work to be performed and include pictures, procedures, EMETL Documents, man hours needed to complete the job, and the correct labor resources.
  • Performs field checks when needed.
  • Prepares job packages and inputs plans into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services and uploads them into the daily maintenance schedule.
  • Identifies task activities necessary to execute the job plan and determines materials, tools, and equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Identifies and solicits safety information and requirements necessary to perform tasks safely, ensuring Life Critical Safety Standards are identified in the job plan.
  • Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before release, and checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment.
  • Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review as needed, creating, developing, changing, and updating job procedures and checklists, and initiating procedure Management of Change (MOC) as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
  • 3 or more years of planning experience in SAP or similar maintenance planning software.
  • Ability to work a 10‑hour daily schedule and overtime as required, including holidays and weekends.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, goggles, respirators, steel‑toed shoes, and harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs.
  • Frequently bends, reaches, and lifts.
  • Climbs stairs or ladders and works high off the ground, including tight and closed spaces.
  • Stands or walks for extended periods of time.
  • Can lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Work involves elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.
