JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Service Technician for Kyle Plumbing II, Inc. is responsible for conducting themselves in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner when responding to customer calls. This individual has the plumbing knowledge and experience necessary to perform the required job tasks and duties.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSThis position reports directly to the Service Manager.
EDUCATIONRequires High School Degree or equivalent.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONNone
EXPERIENCERequires three (3) to five (5) years of plumbing experience.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES- Must have general knowledge of the local plumbing codes.
- Must have general knowledge of plumbing products.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Must have time management skills.
- Must stand, stoop, and sit. All body senses of sight, speech (English), and hearing are required.
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics.
- Demonstrates competence and safety in the use of power tools and equipment.
- Must be able to bend down and lift objects from the floor.
- Must be able to withstand walking or standing for long periods of time, up and down ladders.
Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, and interact within all levels of the company.
WORKING CONDITIONS- Walks or stands 95% of the time.
- Works with power tools and equipment.
- May work outside in the heat/rain.
- Responsible for providing quality work consistent with the requirements of the company and ensuring that all work orders are completed per the customer’s specifications.
- Responsible for performing tasks effectively, efficiently, and timely.
- Accountable for performing work accurately with a minimum of errors.
- Responsible for performing all duties independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Responsible for keeping the Service Manager informed of when traveling to a location, arrival, and work completion.
- Communicates with the Service Manager to ensure understanding of work requests.
- Follows direction regarding paperwork and communication procedures.
- Ensures that time is not wasted on breaks or lunch and always keeps the Service Manager informed of location and status.
- Responsible for properly pricing labor and materials according to company policy.
- Responsible for explaining to the customer the work required and completing the job appropriately.
- Responsible for completing an invoice for each job, securing a signature, and collecting payment from the customer.
- Ensures that the completed work description is typed on the invoice and returned to the Service Department the next morning after work is completed.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding daily billable hour targets.
- Demonstrates good judgment when examining and resolving problems on Service Calls and is able to tactfully handle difficult situations.
- Responsible for having the knowledge necessary to perform job tasks.
- Seeks guidance and direction when needed to perform responsibilities and duties.
- Actively conducts self in a professional manner when representing Kyle Plumbing and/or using a company vehicle.
- Maintains acceptable personal appearance and appropriately wears the required company uniforms.
- Properly maintains assigned company vehicle and equipment.
- Works as a team with other department employees and performs necessary functions as required.
- Required to work on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotation basis when authorized by the Service Manager and/or Management.
- Performs any other duties or tasks assigned by the Service Manager and/or Management.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and follows policy regarding calling in.
- Promotes and demonstrates behavior consistent with the policies of the company.
