Job Description

Job Summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Senior Network Engineer) to join the ARINC Global Network (AGN) Implementation team. AGN is a globally distributed network that services and supports a community of interest within the Aviation and Transportation industries. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable and secure world-wide network architecture to our customers.

The successful candidate will serve as a member of the AGN Implementation team that is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and operating the ARINC Global Network. The candidate must be familiar with advanced networking concepts and technologies which include routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud-based technologies primarily on Cisco platforms. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

Onsite:
Employees/contractors who are working onsite roles will work regularly onsite. One day (Friday) will currently be worked from home. This may change to 5 days onsite in the future.

Job Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects from start to finish
Directly interfacing with customers and field technicians
Order and activate WAN circuits; troubleshoot if necessary
Procure equipment per project requirements
Configure Cisco routers and switches according to set design
Coordinate shipping and/or export control (as required)
Create cutover/migration plans
Schedule and perform cutovers with customers
Update documentation (change orders, asset records, circuit records and diagrams)

Basic Qualifications

Must have at least four years of hands-on experience with configuring Cisco routers and switches in a production WAN environment
Must be able to build full working router configurations by using templates and guidelines
Must have sound working knowledge of BGP routing protocol
Working knowledge of all types of Network Address Translations (NAT)

Experience with building Site-to-Site VPNs and DMVPN

Experience with WAN technologies and protocols such as T1/E1, Frame-Relay, HDLC, DSL, Cellular, MPLS, and DMVPN
Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and/or isolating network related problems
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a face paced environment
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Occasionally work evenings and weekends to accommodate global customer change windows
Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. U.S. Citizenship preferred.

Previous experience implementing WAN connectivity
Experience working with LTE cellular connectivity as backup
Experience working in a large-scale WAN environment
Experience working in a Service Provider environment

Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewalls

Education or Certification Requirements:

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Profession (CCNP) a plus
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline a plus
