You will act as the face of the Quality team on the production floor, defending product quality and safety at every stage of the production process to ensure we consistently meet our quality standards. You will partner closely with the production team to drive continuous improvement across our processes and Quality Management System, while proactively identifying potential risks to product quality and safety and recommending practical controls to eliminate or reduce those risks.
This role is based at our Delta location and supports the night shift, reporting directly to the QA Manager. We are targeting a July start date.
Responsibilities
Perform QC checks at critical control points (e.g. sanitation, physical product quality checks, calibration, label checks, etc.)
Maintain high quality QC documentation in accordance with applicable guidelines and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Perform receiving inspections of cannabis returns, raw materials, supplies, equipment, and packaging components
Assist in training of operations employees
Assist in the maintenance and improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS)
Assist in continuous improvement projects
Assist with Internal Audits
Identify Deviations and initiate Deviation Reports and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) reports as needed
Assist in updating SOPs as necessary
Assist in the investigation of out-of-specification test results
Assist Quality Assurance Team in various duties
Other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and remain on your feet for an entire shift
Availability to work night shifts (12:00AM – 8:00AM, with some flexibility)
Able to work independently and collaboratively, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to build effective cross-departmental relationships
Reliable attendance, strong safety awareness, and flexibility to take on additional duties and cross-train
High attention to detail, with analytical and creative problem-solving skills; experience managing data is an asset
Comfortable working under both close and minimal supervision
Proficient in MS Office, able to quickly learn new software and train others
Nice to Have
Experience in cannabis and/or quality control or quality assurance
Education in cannabis, quality, quality assurance, or a science-related field
Experience with HACCP and pre-requisite programs
Fluency in Punjabi or Spanish
