Position:
Press Brake Operator
Shift: M-F, 1st (7am - 3:30pm), 2nd (3:30pm - 12am)
Pay: $16.00 per hour or depending on experience plus shift differential for 2nd shift
Location:
Denton, TX
Anchor Fabrication, LLC, a precision metal fabrication company is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator. Qualified candidates will be self‑motivated and work with limited supervision setting up and operating Brake to bend, form and straighten metal stock to blueprint or specifications.
Responsibilities- The position requires the operator to set up and operate all press brakes, including numerical control press brake, to bend metal to dimensions and angles.
- Verify dimensions of work piece using template, scale or other precision measuring instruments.
- Read, plan and make calculations for machine operation.
- Set up and operate the press brake to bend, form and straighten.
- Determine and select dies for operation.
- Plan sequence of operations applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.
- Set up dies and support equipment for operation.
- Run press brake and produce parts as required.
- Verify final product from press brake and perform all final quality check activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and dies.
- Operate machine and handle tooling using safe manufacturing practices.
- Utilize gauges, sample parts and poke‑yoke fixtures to fabricate parts to spec.
- Figure bend lines and calculate size and angles using calculators or charts.
- Make required checks and change programs to produce parts to spec.
- Read calipers, height gauges and tape measure.
- Prioritize production runs to meet required dates.
- Utilize set‑up scrap pieces so jobs complete with required quantity.
- Collaborate on safety, production and machine TISs.
- Build a bend program from scratch and enter it into the machine.
- Claim labor correctly utilizing computers.
- Train new employees in all duties of a Press Brake Operator.
- Ensure employees run correct jobs utilizing the production monitor screens.
- Troubleshoot scrap issues and correct them.
- Program all brakes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Blueprint reading.
- Good math skills.
- Amada and Trumpf Brake experience a plus.
- Epicor experience a plus.
- High School or Equivalent.
- Technical School Experience a plus.
