Job Description & How to Apply Below
- Purpose — Own the end-to-end Snowflake platform strategy, architecture, and operational excellence to enable scalable analytics, real-time data capabilities, and AI/ML workloads.
- Outcome focus — Deliver a governed, high-performing, cost-efficient Snowflake foundation that accelerates migration away from legacy tooling and supports “decision orchestration” use cases (real-time signals → AI reasoning → action → feedback loop).
- Define target-state Snowflake architecture for a unified data platform (structured + semi/unstructured) with clear standards and patterns.
- Lead phased migration execution (pilot → core migration → full transition), including decommissioning legacy pipelines and enabling self-service.
- Administration & operations
- Own account-level configuration, warehouse strategy, workload management, and platform scalability.
- Establish durable operational practices for monitoring, incident response, and ongoing platform health.
- Performance & cost optimization
- Diagnose and resolve query performance issues (e.g., spillage), optimize ingestion/transformation patterns, and tune compute/storage usage.
- Build cost governance practices that align consumption to business activity and avoid unnecessary spend.
- Provide reusable patterns, templates, and frameworks that speed pipeline development and reduce maintenance overhead.
- Guide best-practice use of native Snowflake capabilities (e.g., Dynamic Tables, Streams/Tasks patterns where appropriate, Streamlit apps where valuable).
- CI/CD and SDLC
- Define and implement CI/CD frameworks for Snowflake development, testing, and deployment to ensure reliability and data integrity.
- Enable collaborative development workflows (e.g., Git-based workflows, dbt/Openflow-style projects).
- Security, governance, and auditability
- Design and maintain RBAC, security policies, masking strategy, and governance controls that scale enterprise-wide.
- Ensure “decision lineage” style traceability: what data, what model/rule, what outcome—auditability as a first-class requirement.
- AI/ML enablement and closed-loop learning
- Enable Snowflake-native AI/ML patterns (e.g., Cortex-style execution close to data) without unnecessary data movement.
- Implement monitoring approaches that support drift/bias detection and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Tooling and integration leadership
- Evaluate and select ingestion/ELT/ETL, catalog/governance, and observability tooling aligned to platform goals and budget.
- Partner with implementation vendors/elite partners to accelerate capability-building and upskill internal teams.
- Snowflake Advanced Architect Certification
- Snowflake Advanced Data Engineer Certification
- Snowflake Advanced Administrator Certification
- Snowflake platform expertise — Proven experience architecting, administering, and scaling Snowflake in an enterprise environment.
- Data platform engineering depth — Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals, including ingestion frameworks, transformation design, and data modeling.
- Operational rigor — Experience with performance tuning, workload/warehouse strategy, and cost optimization in consumption-based platforms.
- Security & governance — Demonstrated ability to implement RBAC, masking, policy-based controls, and governance practices at scale.
- Dev Ops mindset — Hands‑on experience designing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management for data platforms.
- Migration leadership — Track record delivering low‑risk, phased migrations with parallel‑run strategies and clear cutover plans.
- Modern ELT stack exposure — Experience with dbt-style development, Git-based workflows, and orchestrations aligned to cloud-native patterns.
- Real‑time/streaming concepts — Familiarity with near-real‑time ingestion and continuous processing patterns.
- AI/ML platform enablement — Experience enabling model execution close to data and operationalizing monitoring for drift/bias.
- Stakeholder leadership — Ability to translate platform capabilities into business outcomes (faster insights, reduced cost, improved agility).
- Phase 1 (Months 1–3) — Platform…
